From the recording Down at the Junction
"I have great memories of night fishing out on the San Joaquin River with my family folk. We would take lanterns out there to light our way, bait up, tell stories all night long, and try our best to catch the biggest catfish. The elders shared their wisdom while the young bloods fished hard and the little kids pretended to watch their poles. They were too busy worrying about the noises that the bugs, frogs, and critters were making out in the dark. We called our fishing hole Catfish Junction."
Lyrics
Down at The Junction
Lazy green river on a full moon night
Me and my kin folks hope the fish gonna bite
Down at the junction late at night
Everything feeling right
Bullfrog croakin’ skeeters on the prowl
Crickets fiddlin’ hear the hound dog howl
At the catfish junction late at night
Everything feeling right
Old man's smilin’ we got fish on the line
Tellin’ tall tall tales ‘bout the good ol’ times
Down at the junction late at night
Everything feeling right
Everything feeling right
Everything feeling right
